What is Chinese Massage Therapy?

Massage for pain/stress relief originated from
ancient China more than 3,000 years ago. Chinese
traditional massage also knows as "Tui-Na" or “Qi-
Gong Tui-Na". The person who performs Tui-Na
massage stimulates the energy from his or her own
body and then transfers it into a special flow of
power, which is invisible but can be felt by the
person receiving the massage. The management of
this power and energy is called "Qi-Gong" and the
massage is also named as "Tui-Na". A real Chinese
Massage Therapist has to be a Qi-Gong expert first.
The typical way of Qi-Gong training is meditation.

The Chinese Qi-Gong Massage is a unique
technique based on the theory of Chinese
Traditional medicine. Using hands, arms, elbows,
and fists, the person practicing massage applies
pressure on the special areas or points of the person
receiving the massage. These special areas or points
now are well known as "Meridian" or "Acupuncture
Points". Energy flows and circulates inside human
body. The slowing-down of energy flow causes
stress or fatigue, and the blockage of energy flow
will cause many kinds of pain. Acupuncture Points
are the key locations to improve energy flow,
remove the blockage, and eventually relieve the
pain and stress. The Chinese Massage involves
several kinds of rolling, rubbing, pushing, pressing,
and pointing. These actions and related energy not
only work on skin level but also, more importantly,
deeply penetrate into Acupuncture Points. This is
the distinction between Chinese Massage and the
other types of massage. In most cases the person
who receives Chinese Massage can feel instant pain
relief and become energetic again.
